We launched the new Color Magazine website a few weeks ago and so far everything has been very smooth. Not only was this a website upgrade, but also a complete server upgrade/migration.
By using an identical test server and a nice dns TTL variable trick, the web/mail server had nearly no downtime....when I say nearly, my test less than 5 minutes later was successful. Probability would tell me that with over 20+ accounts I lost no actual (maybe 1-2 spam) incoming e-mails. I'm trying not to jynx it, but two weeks later - so far so good.
The website itself is a dense web app. It's got a community blog and event calendar system that can both have an unlimited number of authors/posts. The authors use an implementation of the FCK Editor for creating html tags and uploading/adding images. All other sections have custom managers for adding/editing/deleting content. The back-end was creating using cakephp, and the front-end is a combination of html/css/javascript/flash. COMMENTS (displaying 0 comments) POST (leave a comment) |
